Live performance audio documentary, From Block2Block
Big Bear Cafe on May 31st , 7pm
live performance of a two-part audio documentary about the life of a neighborhood over the course of 70 years. The doc is produced by From Block2Block, an audio storytelling group. We spent over a year interviewed dozens of current and former residents about gentrification, the parallel power of race and class, about rebuilding abandoned homes and starting over after growing up amidst violence. The project features original music, live narration, and an audio / visual exhibition. And your donations will go to the Stronghold College Fun to help a local student pay for college. Show starts at 7 p.m. Big Bear Cafe is located at 1st and R St. NW. For more information visit: http://fromblock2block.com/post/84429497360/our-next-show-will-be-at-big-bear-cafe-in
