Sound Scene 2018: Mapping Memory

A 2-day interactive audio art "Happening"

Sound Scene 2018: Mapping Memory was a FREE and INTERACTIVE audio art "happening," for all ages, held at the Smithsonian Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. Visitors were invited to rest in a sonic dream tent, hold sound in their hands, listen through their fingertips, take an acoustic tour, practice mixing samples, transform words from speech, to text, to dance, and more!

Sound Scene is curated and produced by the DC Listening Lounge with help from the Smithsonian Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden and with support from the Goethe-Institut Washington and Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center. The 2018 Sound Scene was supported in part, by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
