Make a single audio piece, maximum 2 minutes long (absolutely no longer). Can be .wav or .mp3
DETAILS:
It must contain 2 beats/seconds of silence
It must contain the word "signal"
It must contain some cross talk (people talking over one another- as recorded by you)
ALSO must contain your CHOICE of at least 2 (can be more) of the following audio clips (attached). can be used in part or in full but can not be edited to 'distort" only to shorten.

Best of Prix Europa
The European radio documentary scene is alive and flourishing all over the continent. The annual Prix Europa competition brings together producers and commissioning editors from Europe and beyond to listen to and discuss their most interesting work. This evening will feature sound-rich excerpts from long-format European pieces presented and critiqued during the week-long festival in October 2012.
These and other programs are under consideration:
France: “Interior Voice / Intérieur Voix,” by the actress Delphine Salkin, based on her autobiographical play about losing her voice and her struggle to find it again.
Ireland: “The Secret Chicken Society,” narrated and produced by Liam O’Brien about prize chickens and the couple that raises them. An unknown world!
Germany: “The Judge and the Victims / Der Richter und die Opfer,” by Julia Smilga about the battle for pensions for Holocaust survivors who worked in ghettos.
Norway: “My Share of the Sky / Min bit av himmelen,” by Sheida Jahanbin and Rikke Houd, about the experiences of an Iranian refugee as she and her husband live through their introduction to life in Norway.
Austria: “Life’s Holiday,” by Franziska Dorau, on a new trend: the care of European dementia patients in Thailand.

**Feb DCLL Meeting: In REVIEW**
we kicked off the night with by talking about snow. adventures in snow. the highlights reel.
As kids Teague and his brother bulleted down a bulldozer-made-1mi-plowed road turned ice shoot in Minnesota- a sled race of impressive speed. Mark was wowed by thundersnow which turned the sky pinks and blues and suddenly the lights of it all went off and night returned like a switch. Wendy, from Tennessee - already not a fan of the cold- was further foiled by winter when her white water rafting trip turned into a slush-river-slog. Lauren pounded 20 Vermont resorts in 20 weeks in a winter of snowboarding journalism like no other. Alex decided to take it easy on a youth snowcamping outdoor adventure by tucking himself into a snowy bed which nearly turned into an ice-tomb by morning. lesson learned. Emily rocked the hot pink and yellow one-piece (a softer version of the aforementioned ice-tomb) making snow angels during younger days. James had 9 days off of school as a kid and he and his brother committed to hill climbing and sledding for each of the 9 in a row. Jeff had a paid snowmegedden - being paid to be trapped for three weeks. Laura denounced the famous pizza pie instructions of intro- to-downhill skiing (we tried to connect Laura and Lauren to improve Laura's impression of the winter sport...will our hero prevail? stay tuned). Tatiana showed her Russian-Chicagoan roots by tossing her innocent pug puppies into the deep snow to show off their prowess as tiny wolves (PETA members: author took liberties with the above description. Do not hunt Tatiana down.) Desiree remembers the tastiest snow day with tomato soup with an egg dropped in? Tali trudged the snow delights of Minnesota's steepest hills w sled in hand. Jocelyn finally let loose her hidden aggression and on the first attempt at cross country skiing fell down immediately and snapped her pole in half. Sierra shared a memory of "warm snow" also known as rain and the magic of looking up to see it falling down "like little tiny birds darting everywhere." Matt packed his memories with toboggans- a full five-seater diving down the hills and bailing out at the finish. Lisa's California innocence learned (with relief) that the horrible feeling that comes with being cold in winter doesn't mean you're dying- it just means you need hot chocolate and Tim took the open plains of suburbia sledding across the golf courses of his youth.and with that the audio commenced:
Matt kicked off the night with his FIRST EVER audio recording project (and he edited it himself too!). The Audio Challenge recorded during a sketch crawl with signals of art and the art of audio capture.
Lauren shared what others coined an audio poem for the Audio Challenge. The signals its time to move on.
Sierra- shared audio for her first time with DCLL!!! excellent work shopping of an old grad school recording with a conscientious objector. 6 years later was a time ripe for returning to the topic.
Tatiana introduced us to the podcast she produces with Desiree called www.fromblock2block.com Check it out. She spent time with the musical mastery of a high school junior and his catchy poly rhythms
Jeff beat Sierra's time away and return with a return to audio ideas first started 25 years ago. The results led to a reminder that in a dream it can all be okay.
Mark work shopped highlight clips from a future piece about a children of the Holocaust and children of the Third Reich. The tape of an interview with a daughter of a Holocaust survivor. The future story will showcase her struggle to understand her role as the child of survivors and her challenge to face the dark past of her family and leave it and them behind.
Lisa introduced us to her chatcast (TM Jocelyn Frank) "Bitchin' " themed "The Battle of the Bulge" with partner in crime Joseph Palermo the podcast featured banter, laughter, health info, live interviews and more! www.morebitchin.tumblr.com
